HELLO

I am John Grover

About

I’m passionate about how graphic design can positively affect people’s lives.

My concepts and creative ideas are as sharp as they were when I started out designing brand identities, campaigns and product catalogues for the likes of the Financial Services Authority, Vauxhall Motors and WHSmith.

Over the last 20+ years I’ve worked with charity, government and housing organisations, broadening my skills with digital design, photography and gaining project management accreditation. I’m constantly seeking new ways to design and produce eye-catching concepts as either freelance for agencies or working directly with clients.

So, I’m on the lookout for challenging brand projects that require a high level of creative skill and ideas, underpinned with efficient management and accountable to clearly defined costs and end user benefits.

Let’s talk.

Skills

Team and project leadership is where I apply a wide skill set to ensure effective direction, planning and communication between creative output and senior management objectives.

I’m also a hands-on designer that can work as part of a team or independently when required on both Apple and PC platforms using:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Invision
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sketch

Creating vector graphics in Illustrator, layouts in InDesign and layered web designs in Photoshop are all second nature to me. I’m skilled in digital content creation and administration – predominantly using WordPress CMS – with full design and build capability using web template platforms such as WIX.

In addition, I also offer studio photography services based near Tring and Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire for advertising, products, portraiture and social documentary.

Experience

Design and project management consultant
Since 2010 I have been working on design, brand management and digital project management for the Guinness Partnership, Paradigm Housing, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and The World of Dinosaur Roar! to name a few.

In addition, I’ve completed photographic assignments for Lucky Lobster, Paradigm Housing and Woodmansterne.

Creatiscope
I enjoyed over ten years as co-founder of Creatiscope Design Ltd, delivering successful brand projects for clients such as Care for the Family, COI, Epping Forest College and Toybox.

Visible Edge
Working on projects for well known brands such as Laura Ashley, WHSmith and National Portrait Gallery, I enjoyed four years progressing my design career to Senior Designer at this London-based agency.

Colin Robinson Associates
Colin gave me my first job. I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to get my career started and work with such a genuine design professional (and co-designer of the original iconic Channel 4 television identity).
